Today, we’re taking a look at a common problem: how to design a logo from anywhere in the world, from start to finish really fast. Maybe you need something for your latest startup, project, or event.
Let’s take a look at Logo Garden, one of my favorite places for when I need something that looks good and is fast and and cheap, with plenty of customization options. You can create as many logos as you like for free without needing to create an account or enter any information. If you don’t like any of your designs, you haven’t paid a cent and they don’t have any of your personal information.
If you do settle on one you like, you’ll have to purchase the high-resolution files at a cheap price (under $US 15 at the time of writing) to download. This is much more affordable than working with a designer! That purchase also allows you to make unlimited tweaks and unlimited downloads of your logo, so you don’t have to worry if you want to make changes to the logo later.
If I decide I want to work one-on-one with a designer at Logo Garden, I can do so at a low price point compared to other places. But to just play with the tools and design something yourself is fast and free, and I’ll show you how there’s a myriad of choice and customizations so that it’s unlikely you’ll wind up with a similar logo to others.
First off, I’d like to point out that for any logo design, from any website or any designer, you should always seek advice from a lawyer well versed in trademark and copyright law, to check into a) intellectual property ownership and b) check if it isn’t too similar to anything else already out there.
But when you’re just seeking a fast logo to get your brand started, then you may like to try out Logo Garden.
It’s easy to get started:
It’s so intuitive you won’t need any guidance, but the 1-minute video below from Logo Garden gives you a general idea just how quick and easy it is to choose and edit a symbol with their logo maker. I particularly like the ability to place the symbol on a shape (called a shield) if you wish, which lets it be distinctive. Alternatively, you can add shadow, reflection, or shine to your symbol. You also get to enter your text and edit that, which is similarly intuitive. No need to download any software.
Step 2. After you design your logo, if you’re happy with it you can purchase high-resolution files of it to download as mentioned above. One thing I love about this is that they allow you to make unlimited tweaks and unlimited downloads, so you have no risk. They accept most major credit cards including JCB, or you can pay by PayPal which I always like to use as an option.
What I like best about Logo Garden is that you get logo design in minutes, not days! At other places, even if you can miraculously find something similarly cheap, you’ll be looking at a much longer timeframe.
Alternatively: If you’re looking for an upgrade beyond the under-$15 do-it-yourself version, Logo Garden offers custom logos where a designer creates an individualized logo for you with unlimited revisions; you don’t have to do any of the work. You can click to see actual samples below. I’ve never tried out the custom logo option, but at the time of writing prices for custom logos start at US $40, much cheaper and faster than most other places.
Whichever way you go, it’s a satisfying feeling to have a brand identity so quickly, cheaply and easily.
